The Power of Place
Greetings from Mountain Lake!
If you are someone who has experienced the intellectual community and magic of the Station, or someone who has admired from afar our work and contribution to science, learning, and the understanding of the natural would we all live in, I hope that you will consider giving back so that we can continue offering extraordinary opportunities.
We are grateful for gifts in any amount and in support of any Station program (student support, research, ArtLab, etc.), or read on to learn about three featured ways you can support the Station.
Continue the Walton Lecture
The Walton Lecture, which has been given every year but one since 1980, is the cornerstone event of the summer. The event brings to the Station community prominent thinkers in evolution, ecology, field biology and animal behavior, and provides a forum for discussion of topics related to ongoing Station research. Dian Fossey, Doug Futuyma and Jonathan Losos are just a few of the scientists who have shared their work with Station residents and visitors. We lost the founding single-donor funding in 2012 and had to cancel the lecture. It costs $2,000 to put on each year. With generous support the Walton Lecture is now back. Your support will help us continue this important event for years to come.
Walton Lecture Sponsor: $1,000
Walton Lecture Supporter: $500
